Fast in the D70 |
A tad faster then the SanDisk ll, however, the sandisk is fast.
I bought the Lexar (from ritz) and returned it because it was 139- and now at Amazon it is way less. The Sandisk is a few bucks less, 10% at this time.
NOTE: (REF:Cannon EOS 20D) I read about the Cannon and searched their horrible website , (and I thought Nikon's website sucked) and they say to contact lexar.. as it appears that the 80x does in fact loose pics. They suggest to use Cannon's CF card... great!! I could not find any information to what cards they do recommend other than their own. I would buy Nikon. The D70 is sweet.
Also , they suggest to update the firmware for your camera. |

Mine Failed after a few months |
I bought this card in April 2005 and it failed in August 2005. The reason for failure is unknown.
Typically I would take some photos, remove the card from the camera (Canon Eos 350D), insert it into a CF->USB adapter and then use Windows Explorer to pull the files over from the card. I did this and then replaced the card back in the camera when it simply failed to work anymore in the camera or the PC. This is the procedure that I've used 50 times before with no problems. Did I just get a bad card? I don't know, this is my first compact flash card but I can see other people have had a similar experience of early failure.
My other observations about when it was working is all good.
I've never waited for the card to complete a process. You can fire 8MB shots off in rapid succession and not be kept waiting on the card.
On the Lexar site there is some information about the card losing images when used with Canon cameras. They are doing something about the problem but you should check their site for current information. In all cases you should check the compatibility between your camera and any media.
I don't think I'll buy a second card from them after all, it seems like hassle.

Early failure |
| This card worked fine in my Canon Digital Rebel XT for less than three months before failing. If you get this, be sure to carry spares! |
