The Bushies should see it

The problem with this film is that the people who should see it won't. Using interviews from about 20 experts on Iraq, mostly former CIA officials, "Uncovered" details the lies and deceptions of the Bush administration in taking the nation to war with Iraq. It's pretty familiar stuff to most of us; if you've been on Planet X and it's new to you it will shock your socks off, but the American public is now so inured to official wrongdoing that it's ho-hum to half of us -- and the other half is living in la-la land wrapped in a protective blanket of patriotic wooliness.

"Uncovered" should be followed up with a much deeper film about the neo-cons who, back in the 1990s, advocated an attack on Iraq and found in the hysteria following the 9/ll terrorist attacks a comfortable venue for their extreme ideas.

Don't expect anything new if you've followed the course of the debate about Iraq over the last three years. But "Uncovered" marshalls the facts in a virtually irrefutable manner and a new insight or two will come to you. For example, one of the experts asked: who forged the documents that led the Bush folks to believe that Niger was selling yellow-cake uranium to Iraq? That's an interesting question and one that should be answered.

The most chilling moment of the film comes at the end in a 1998 quote from George Bush I -- the good Bush -- in which he warns against the dangers of occupation of Iraq. His son should have listened to him.

Anyone who is truely patriotic, willing to see the flaws in the system and try to correct them, this is a must see film. Watch it, watch it again, and share it with friends.

depressing, truthful

i know that because i am liberal, i am inherently biased towards this movie. however, it was one of the first i've seen that seemed to be truthful and accurate. it surpasses any of michael moore's films because, although, his may come with a good cause, they are quite obviously and admittedly produced and edited with one goal in mind. i think this movie is interesting for both sides. hurtfully honest, yet needing to be seen.

baically, it is a documentary of insiders during the iraq war beginnings that just tell you like it is. they tell you as much as they know and they tell you what they speculate.
