Good for MFS 2004 & better than using the keyboard |
I'm a real flight-simulator enthusiast & Logitech Wingman Force 3D is a good buy for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004.
The fine points are the esay accessibility to all the buttons, easy grip, 8 direction panning & a very good force feedback system that makes the take-offs & landings seem "as real as it gets".
But I'l have to agree on the other reveiwers on the centering issue. In MFS 2004 even with low sensitivity, slight twists & turns on the stick causes the plane to veer a lot on the sides. It requires a lot of mental concentration & hand stability to keep the plane centered until autopilot takes over.
Its a bit expensive but certainly better than using the keyboard for MFS.

Not what's expected from Logitech |
I got this joystick brand new from Amazon on Friday and am returning it on Saturday. This joystick puts a shame on the entire Logitech family of products due to it's lack in quality and style.
When I first got it, I expected a nice joystick. I hooked it up, and it worked, but I noticed it wasn't built up to specification or something. When I left the joystick in it's idle position, the stick itself could still wiggle around causing any center calibration to be null and void. Basically, if I were to play a game, use the joystick for a bit, then switch back to the keyboard, since the idle position wasn't stiff or locked, I may have it centered or it may be a little to the left, which is very disruptive.
The style isn't something you'd expect from Logitech either. To me, this joystick looks like something you'd get from the 1990's, when we've advanced way past that. The drivers haven't upgraded much since then either. While there is an update to them, the drivers are terrible. Even when calibrated to the best of my ability, the stick would still be disobedient and not do as I told it to. Configuring the thing for the latest games was a complete hassle.
All in all, this stick is not worth your time or money. The style is lacking, the build quality is terrible, and I see no good reason for buying this joystick. |

Awful ! Worked for one hour. |
I had to return this one the same day I got it. The centering was horrible. I couldn't even taxi without veering to the sides, in MSFS 2004.
As someone else pointed out, I guess all Logitech joysticks have a nagging problem, which crops up sooner or later.
Sidewinder is the best I've used so far. |
